After supper at JB’s Corner at the very quaint shopping area, Melrose Arch, a good friend of mine, Anthony Sham told me he was planning on starting his own personal blog, and asked me what I thought of the idea. I got a sheepish grin on my face; I couldn’t understand why one would want to do that. To me the idea of self-promotion sits somewhat uneasy. Who am I to teach you anything? What do I know?
Anthony explained that his blog would act as a sort of journal to document his thoughts. Explaining it that way made sense to me because I’ve kept a sort of diary of my personal experiences ever since hearing Anthony Robbins say, “If your life is worth living it’s worth recording”.
So since 1999, if something significant happens in my life, like the first time I kissed a girl, I document it. I don’t know how many people would get their phone camera out and take a picture of the very first time they french kissed a girl, but I did it, and it’s in that diary. In fact, I’ve just decided to make a rare exception and share this with you since you’ve taken the time to read this page. Here it is, pasted directly from my journal…

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
That’s Lauren, Kiron’s friend, a very beautiful girl. I can’t believe I kissed her. It felt so weird. She was teaching me, that’s what you see in the picture. We started talking on Sunday evening, and I asked her questions and she said it would be easier to show you than to tell you. So I said ok, we’ll go to the drive in and you can teach me, and she said fine. I’m 23 years old, and I kissed for the first time properly yesterday, at 23. I still can’t believe it. Even though I didn’t kiss for longer than say 30 seconds at a time, I can see why people say it’s such fun. I love kissing. There, for Pete’s sake, now I’ve said it too!!!!!!!!!!! “
So anyway, the idea of an online, less intimate, more business-focused version of my journal started making sense to me.
I started my first blog to help generate organic search traffic for my first business, a corporate drumming company. And then it happened. The blog bug bit.
I started writing articles about topics not related to our team building and corporate drumming activities, just cause it was my blog and I wanted to write these thoughts down. Then it dawned on me that I, like Anthony, would need to start a separate blog for my business-and-life-related thoughts.
So that’s how it all began. Let’s see where it goes ![]()
